So if there are a lot of options with the same strike above $80 the market will tend to drive through $80 to get near this strike level. The $80 level in itself is not that interesting.

A more interesting indicator is the volatility skew, i.e. is the implied volatility for higher strike, out of the money call options different to lower strike, equivalent out of the money put options. A large skew tends to be much more indicative of a strong move through a strike.Tony Westhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10362523991079173272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3134496495160611558.post-24304760748763912762009-09-25T03:40:15.469-07:002009-09-25T03:40:15.469-07:00basically a case of picking up a whipping boy !!it...basically a case of picking up a whipping boy !!its difficult to digest why a Phibro could be making money when everyone around is making drowning!! further still,go ahead and blame all energy traders for over speculation recession and what not!!point is,speculation or no speculation, the demand-supply situation for oil and gas is screwed because of an increasing population and wasteful lifestyles and there is only one direction to its price ---> UP !!!!

instead of finding scapegoats, the federal government should be focussed on trying to come up with new technologies to harness clean energy !! US with its research infrastructure is in the best position to do that!! however,it will need big resolve and an effort as huge as the Manhattan project or maybe even more !!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03966143620514890292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3134496495160611558.post-22298518090947791862009-03-31T13:10:00.000-07:002009-03-31T13:10:00.000-07:00As a strategy, SAP is taking the course of partner...As a strategy, SAP is taking the course of partnering with ETRM package vendors like Triple Point to provide an end to end solution to Commodity trading clients.

SAP & Triple Point have jointly developed a Commodity Management solution which utilises deal capture, contract management, position & risk management modules of Triple Point along with the logistics, Settlements, Invoicing & Accounting modules of SAP. TSW integrates with TriplePoint for the front office functions and handles all the scheduling and back office functions. Right now Chevron is a big customer of TSW (for international refined products but without the TPT front end); and Citgo is in the middle of a TPT/TSW implementation.Masudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08396637913927029470noreply@blogger.com
